Knox College Library Policies and Procedures
The persistent search bar appears at the top of most screens in Alma. Use this search bar to search for users, titles, items, and others.
There are several ways to find item information by searching for the item in Alma. Search terms can be title, author, call number, barcode, etc., depending on what information you have and depending on which Alma search option you choose.
1. The search option PHYSICAL ITEMS results in a display with title and author plus information from the item record:
2. The search options ALL TITLES (includes physical and electronic) or PHYSICAL TITLES results in a display with title information from the bibliographic record. Click on the "Physical" link to display the items:
To find out the patron who has an item checked out, click on the Items link in the screen above. Alma will display the item information. Click on the Loan link (in the process type column):
3. The Alma search option ELECTRONIC TITLES will search only electronic titles:
