Alma Fulfillment

Policies and procedures for using Alma for Fulfillment activities.

IMPORTANT: Select the Proper Library!

Before you perform any actions to discharge items, make sure you have selected the correct library in Alma. If the items you wish to discharge live at Seymour Library, then select that library from the list of libraries in the blue menu bar:

Discharging Items

Go to Fulfillment > Return Items.

Scan in the item barcode.

Note any message or print window that pops up. For example, an item may be needed to fulfill an I-Share request or there may be a message about the item being on Hold. If that occurs, a print window will open.

  • Print the transit slip and put it in the item and give it to the interlibrary loan office.
  • Print the slip about the item being on Hold, write the patron's name on the slip, and put the item on the Hold Shelf.

The row will also record that item needs to transited:

 

If you are logged in at the library that doesn't own the item, then you will see a pop-up note indicating the item is owned by a different library:

To discharge the in-transit items change your library's location and scan in the items again under Fulfillment > Return Items. The items are now ready for reshelving.

Change Return Date/Time

To change the return date and time at discharge, for example, if you are scanning in items from the bookdrop, use the calendar pop-up on the Manage Item Returns page:
