Marking Your Work With a CC License

The basic components for marking a licensed work are T-A-S-L:

Title Give the title of the work if the work has one. Title is not always required, but the license details will spell out any requirements.
Author Author refers to the licensor or copyright holder of the work. This may be an entity other than the creator if the work is a work-for-hire. A copyright symbol and designation may also appear. (See the attribution statement in the box on the left for an example!)
Source Source is usually a URL where people can find the work.
License The CC license itself. Name the license and provide a link to the license deed. Example: CC BY-SA 4.0.

See the Creative Commons Wiki for example of how to mark your work for various types of works. Here are some resources for marking your work:

Don't forget the machine readable code if you are marking a web page! When you use the license chooser you have the option to copy html code to put in your web page. This allows your work to be found when search engines offer filtering by type of license.
