Creative Commons Licenses

Collections

The license applied to the collection as a whole only extends to the author(s)' original work in the collection, not to the individual pieces in the collection. The individual pieces retain their original license status.

When choosing a Creative Commons license for a collection it is important to select a license that is compatible with the other licensed materials that exist in the collection.

The main consideration for choosing a CC license for a collection is whether or not the purpose of the collection is commercial. View this chart from Creative Commons about mixing differently licensed materials in a collection.
