Looking up books for the last copy

Directions for looking up books in Open Worldcat

  1. Search for book in Alma by barcode.
  2. Click on the title.
  3. Look for the 035 field that says (OCoLC)ocm00000000
  4. The number that follows "ocm" is the OCLC number.
  5. Search in OpenWorld by the OCLC number like this: "no:000000000"
  6. Change the version to "Print copy" or "Musical Score."
  7. Check to see if another library in Illinois is on the lsit.
  8. Click on the "Check this Out" link to make sure they have the same volume that we own.
  9. If they do, do nothing
  10. If no other library in Illinois has the book, add it to the Last Copy Spreadsheet.
  11. Place a flag in the book with the OCLC number, and place on the Black "Last Copy" cart.
