Run Import File

Run the import profile
1. If the Manage Import Profiles screen is displayed, click the Institution tab. Otherwise,
go to Resources menu > Import > Manage Import Profiles.
2. Select Add or Replace NZ Bibs from OCLC Export File; select the ... menu button, then
select Run.
3. Click Select File.
4. Click the folder icon to open your computer's Open File dialog. Select the file to import
and click Open.
5. Optionally enter a label and notes to track your file use. (E.g., date and number of
records.)
6. Click Add.
7. Alma will split import files into groups of 50 records or less, as well as convert the
data to XML. If the number of files appears correct, click Submit.
8. Alma will process the import. You may click Refresh and wait for completion, or watch for
an email that the job has finished.
9. When the job completes, you may view the report from the Job History screen.
--This is the screen that appears after you clicked submit.
--Also available from the Manage Import Profiles screen, ... menu button, then Job History
(this shows all runs of an import profile, rather than the most recent).
--Also available from Resources menu > Import > Monitor and View Imports.
10. To view the job report, click the ... menu button, then select Report. The report will
show more detail on records that were imported, that were matched to existing records, and
that were merged or skipped.
--To view the records that were added using your IZ context, click ... then Imported Records
in IZ.
--To view the records that were added using the NZ context, click ... then Imported Records
in NZ.

Creating Import Profile

Copy an import profile template from the NZ
1. In Alma, go to Resources menu > Import > Manage Import Profiles.
2. Select the Network tab.
3. Select Add or Replace NZ Bibs from OCLC Export File; select the ... menu button, then
select Copy.
4. You may modify the profile name and description if desired.
5. For Originating System, select WorldCat.
6. For Status, select Active.
7. No changes should be needed for the rest of the profile at this time. You may modify this
profile later as desired.
8. Click Save.
