Environmental Studies/Science

This guide will help students researching topics in Environmental Studies.

More Databases Covering Other Disciplines

These databases cover specific disciplines other than Environmental Studies. Use them if your topic relates to one of the disciplines. For instance, if you are researching a topic about the history and formation of the National Park system, use the America: History & Life database.

  • America: History & Life -- Covers North American history, including environmental history. Citations are included from 1962-present.
  • BLDS (British Library for Development Studies) Bibliography -- Citations to monographs published since 1987 and to journal articles published since 1990; good for environmental information related to development in other countries.
  • PubMed -- Indexes journals published internationally, covering all areas of medicine from 1965 to the present.
  • SocINDEX -- Good for topics in demography and population, geography, environmental justice.
  • Political Science Complete -- provides some full text and citations, abstracts, and indexing for 800 journals in political science and related disciplines
  • TRID-Transportation Research Database -- combines the records from TRB’s Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) Database and the OECD’s Joint Transport Research Centre’s International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) Database. TRID provides access to more than one million records of transportation research worldwide. Also try the National Transportation Library database (has links to some documents and reports).
