Supplementary and required class materials and other documents of interest to the Knox Community can be placed on reserve at the library. These materials are available for checkout at the circulation desk. Digital materials like streaming films and ebooks can also be placed on reserve, and it's a good idea to do so because they will appear in reserve lists for courses alongside the physical materials placed on reserve.
The best way to place an item on Reserve is to do so from within Knox Primo.
Go to Knox Primo and sign in.
Search for the item you want to place on reserve. Then, click on the title to display the full record.
Look for the link to make a reserve request next to the item information:
The Reserve Request form will open in a new window. Fill out the form.
If you cannot access Knox Primo or need to place non-library-owned material on reserve, fill out the reserve request form.
If you have questions about reserves or problems placing items on reserve, contact your librarian liaison.
These materials are stored behind the circulation desk and may be checked out with a valid ID. This is the most common type of reserve and is best used for required readings or DVDs.
These materials are located on open shelves near the circulation desk in Seymour Library and may not leave the library. Students may browse the collection and use books anywhere in the library. This choice works well when many students may need to browse or consult the same books, but they don't all have a reading due the same day.
