Availability
We can obtain institutional multi-user ebook licenses for many course texts. This means that all your students can access it remotely and not have to obtain their own copy. Note these trends in availability:
Often Available
- Monographs published in the last 10 years
- Older Monographs - if classic texts frequently used in academia
- Specialized textbooks - Example: The Calculus textbook may not be available but the Linear Algebra textbook might be
Often Not Available
- Traditional textbooks published by major textbook publishers such as Pearson (faculty and students should pursue these on their own).
- Older monographs
- Workbooks or manuals
Checking on availability
- For a specific title -- We can check if a specific text is available with an institutional multi-user license. Email your librarian liaison and be sure to include titles, editions, course number.
- For potential texts by Subject -- If the text you were planning to use is not available as an ebook or you just want to know if there is an ebook available for the type of text you want to use, we can check this as well. Email your librarian liaison and let us know the topic and type of text you are looking for as well as the course number.
