You can also search PsycInfo to find measures, tests and scales
PART ONE - Finding a Measure
#1 Open Psyc Info :
#2 In the first search box put test or scale or measure
and change the box type to SU Subjects
#3 In the second search box, put the key words that describe for your construct --what you want to measure. You can leave this box as Select a Field or change it to Title
If your terms don't work - use the Thesaurus to find more / alternate terms
PART TWO ~ Finding the Primary Article ~ The article you found the test in is probably not the primary article. Once you have the name of the test you want to use - you can follow these steps then to find the primary article.
You can also use this method to find additioanl studies that use your test - just do only steps #1, #2 (skip #3) and #4
#1 Make sure you are still in PsycInfo or reopen it
#2 Type in the Title of the measure or the acronym and change the Search box type to Title (If this doesn't work, try it without choosing the title field)
#3 Choose the Linked Full Tex Limit
#4 Click on the full text link for one of the results
#5 Do CTRL-F to open a find box, and search for the title or acronym of the measure
#6 Once you find it - there should be a parenthetical reference for the 1st mention of it. Note that down
ited list.
#7 Find that reference in the works cited list
That should be your primary article. Then follow the normal steps to find that article in PsycInfo or request it via Illiad.
