I-share and Tipasa

Interlibrary Loan is a good way for students to access materials that aren't available at Knox.  Students can you i-share and TIPASA to request books and journal articles for research, for course texts, and for personal reading.

I-share is usually the faster way to fulfill requests for books or other physical media.  TIPASA is faster for digital items, such as scans of journal articles.

Requesting Materials through Interlibrary Loan

Requesting a book or journal through I-share

  1. Search for an item in Knox Primo.  The default is to search "Everything: Books, media, articles, more."  This checks i-share libraries as well as our databases.

  1. Make sure you are logged in to see the available options.  There will be a prompt at the top of the screen.  You can see that the first item in the list is a book, and that it is not available at Knox.  Click "Not available at Knox; check for more options"

  1. Here you can see the books availability and options for requesting.  Students should try to request through I-share if possible and use Tipasa as a second option.  Once you click on either option you will fill out a short form for the request information then hit submit.
