Major Databases for Psychology

  • PsycInfo -  Worth Repeating ~ The main resource for psychology, for most topics you don't need anything else!   Always Start Here.
  • Web of Science -  This is a Citation Index ~ It allows you to search by who cited who ~ Which can help you find articles you may miss in PsycInfo
  • PubMed -  Covers neuroscience,  biological psychology, & health psychology topics that might be missing from PsycInfo.   Use it to supplement PsycInfo
  • Google Scholar -  Only as a supplement to PsycInfo, never start here.  Google Scholar may help you find unpublished scholarly info on certain topics.  It can be good for very recent topics

If your topic is interdisciplinary you may want to search for articles in the related disciplines.

You can always use the Databases A-Z list with Subject Categories to look up a discipline.
