Interlibrary Loan: Borrowing Materials From Other Libraries

Get Books and Non-print Materials Using Tipasa

If a book or non-print item is not available at the Knox library or via I-Share, you may place an Interlibrary loan request for the book using the Tipasa service.

The easiest way to create a Tipasa request is to find the correct item in Knox Primo using the "All I-Share Libraries" search option:

If you find the correct item, click on the option to "Request this item via Tipasa interlibrary loan service" and fill out the request form.

If you cannot identify the correct item using the I-Share search in Knox Primo, then you must create a Tipasa request manually:

  1. Login to your Tipasa account. (You can also access Tipasa from the link on the library's web site, under the Tools & Resources menu.)
  2. Click on the CREATE REQUEST button.
  3. Click on the Request type BOOK on the top menu.
  4. Fill out the form completely.
  5. Click the SUBMIT REQUEST button.

If another library is willing to loan the item, it will be sent to our library and processed for you to check out. You will get an email notification when the item is ready to be checked out.

Renewing Tipasa Items

Renewal requests for items borrowed via Tipasa interlibrary loan should be made in your Tipasa account before the due date!

Find the item you wish to renew, then click the Renew Request button.

If the due date has passed, and you still want to renew the item, email illoan@knox.edu with your request to renew the item.

Renewals are not guaranteed and the renewal period is determined by the library that owns the item.
