Creating Book Displays and Alma Collections

There are two parts to creating a book display, one is required and one is recommended.

• The required step is giving books the Temporary Location of Display Shelves. 
• The recommended step is creating a Collection in Alma that will appear in Primo on the View Collections page. (There may be displays for which we choose not to create an online collection.) 

There are also two ways of doing both of these steps. 

1. Path 1 allows you to do all the work in Alma and Circulation staff will do the shelf work.
   1. Create Collection 
   2. Search for books 
   3. Add book to Collection 
   4. Place Temporary Move Request on book 
   5. Repeat with next book until finished.
2. Path 2 allows you to pick books from the shelves and then decide which books you want to place on display. 
   1. Create Collection 
   2. Search for books 
   3. Pull books from shelf and decide which will go in the collection
   4. Open collection and go to the Title List, search for the books you wish to add and add them to the collection.
   5. Scan in books to temporarily change their location.
