Return to the Table of Contents Scope notesThe collection contains fourteen letters (transcripts; location of originals unknown.) which were written by Amelia Carey to her parents and "home" in 1866-1867 while she attended the Knox Female Seminary. They include references to her academic and social life and to various faculty members: Professors George Churchill, Henry Hitchcock, Edward Beecher , Milton Comstock, and Miss Lydia Howard.
