Ira Pillsbury and Helen Jordan Papers

Biographical Notes: Ira Harris Pillsbury (1887-1973) was born in Macomb, Illinois, and graduated from Knox College in 1909. In 1912 he married fellow 1909 Knox College graduate Nancy Helen Jordan (1885-1967). Ira went on to graduate from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1912 and acted as a Presbyterian pastor in Montana, Utah and California. He later went on to teach Bible at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. Pillsbury and Jordan had one child, Harriet Louise Pillsbury.

Scope Notes: Collection contains letters sent to Ira Harris Pillsbury sent by various individuals. All letters, aside business letters, are of a personal nature regarding local and personal news, well wishing, and the weather. A large portion of the letters is from Nancy Helen Jordan, written before their marriage in 1912.
