Old Main
The main building at Knox College was finished in 1858 and was the site of the fifth debate between Abraham Lincoln and
Stephen A. Douglas. Knox College's Old Main remains today as the only building associated with the memorable campaign
across Illinois.
Old Main now is used for college academic and administrative offices, and for classes as well. In addition, it houses the offices of Knox College's Lincoln Studies Center.
